The mayor of Getafe, Sara Hernández (PSOE), announced this Tuesday the remodeling of her government team after the departure, on the occasion of his retirement, of the until now deputy mayor of Getafe and spokesperson for the PSOE in the town, Herminio Vico .
Vico, who joined the Getafe City Council as a technical staff more than forty years ago and who will reach his retirement age in February, has been the right hand of the socialist councilor in the last two terms, both in the municipal government and in the Local socialist group.
After the departure of Vico, Hernández has promoted the socialist councilor Maite Mellado as first deputy mayor and councilor responsible for Urban Planning and Public Space, thus making her the new ‘number 2’ of the municipal government, which is currently formed by PSOE, More Madrid-Commitment and Podemos.
“I have absolute confidence in the good work that the councilors who from this moment assume new delegations will do,” said Hernández after presenting his new government team, thanking Vico again for his good efforts during this time and his ability. to generate work teams”.
Along with Mellado, Jorge Rodríguez, also a socialist, also assumes new responsibilities, who will be second deputy mayor and councilor for Finance and Citizen Security.
For his part, the spokesperson for Más Madrid-Commitment to Getafe, Jesús Pérez, will be the third deputy mayor, and councilor for Ecological Transition and Environment, and the spokesperson for Podemos, Alba Leo, will assume the fourth term of Mayor and the Health, Consumption and Agenda 2030 competencies.
Gema Cáceres, also a socialist, will be the fifth deputy mayor and councilor for Seniors and Housing, while Luis Domínguez, also from the PSOE, will maintain his responsibilities in Culture and will add Coexistence.
Ángeles García will continue in Education, Childhood, Human Resources and Modernization of Administration; Javier Santos in Sports and Internal Regime; Elisabeth Melo, with Commerce, Economic Development and Equality, and Roberto Fernández, with Employment, Training and Maintenance.
The socialist councilor Raquel Beteta, who will become a councilor after the departure of Herminio Vico as she is next on the PSOE list, will assume the responsibilities of Welfare and Social Inclusion and Disability Care.
Finally, Ana González (Más Madrid-Commitment to Getafe) will be the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Action in Neighborhoods; Samuel García (Más Madrid), from Youth and Democratic Memory; and Carlos Enjuto ( Podemos ) will maintain the Department of Mobility and Transport.
