The new government of Lleida, led by Fèlix Larrosa (PSC), will be structured into five large areas and will have a total of fifteen councilors and five commissions. The proposal of the municipal portfolio, which Larrosa has presented this Tuesday, June 27, reduces the number of mayoral tenures, which goes from seven to four, as well as reduces the budget of elected officials by 25% and that of elected officials by 5%. eventual and managers.
The salaries of the councilors are maintained, with some adjustments to round off and the figure of the opposition leader is also preserved, but without economic or protocol impact, as explained by Larrosa. The plenary session of the new municipal folder will be held this Friday, June 30.
The government structure foreseen in the new portfolio is divided into five large areas: the City of Good Governance; the Healthy City; the Ciutat de les Oportunitats, and the Ciutat Segura. The work done in these areas will be reported to the five permanent informative commissions that are created. In addition, there will be two special commissions, for Transparency and Accounts, and a participatory commission for Horta.
As regards the composition of the government, it is structured with fifteen councilors who will command the nine councilors of the PSC-Units group, which will govern in a minority.
Citizen participation will be structured around the Neighborhood Councils, where they will debate the terms relating to each neighborhood and the Ciutat Council. The neighborhood councilors will be the presidents of the Neighborhood Councils. In this sense, Larrosa has explained that he will assume the presidency of the councils of the Historic Center and Magraners neighborhoods, “with the vocation that the Historic Center must be the heart of the city and beat strongly, and that requires decisive policies, transversal and under the leadership of the first authority of the city”.
On the other hand, Larrosa has highlighted that the new government will have a 25% lower cost than the previous term in terms of elected positions and 5% lower in terms of eventual and managerial positions. The number of eventual charges is reduced from 25 to 22.
“My vocation was that this has been possible thanks to the reduction of mayoral tenures, exclusive dedications and positions. Remuneration will be maintained, with some adjustments for rounding. In addition, the figure of the leader of the opposition is maintained, but without any economic or protocol impact.
