He went through the TNC and has visited many cities in Spain. Three weeks from now, the work El mar: vision of children who have never seen it should reach the municipality where its story came from: Briviesca, the capital of La Bureba. But the City Council has canceled the performances.

The reasons that the municipality argues are security, but it escapes no one that the story of the Republican teacher Antoni Benaiges, who worked as a teacher in Bañuelos de Bureba between 1934 and 1936, is not to the liking of the new authorities, neither the City Council nor Castilla y León, where the PP governs with Vox.

Authored and directed by Xavier Bobés and Alberto Conejero, The Sea: Vision of Children Who Have Never Seen It tells the story of an idealistic teacher who made his students dream of a summer excursion to the coast.

Sergi Torrecilla plays Benaiges remembering what his classes were like and the essays his students wrote about what they imagined the sea would be like, with the hope of traveling that summer to the Catalan coast.

But Benaiges could not keep his promise, because he was shot just at the beginning of the Civil War. Within three weeks, the work will not be able to remember that story either, because the popular City Council has canceled it.

The events have confronted the PP and PSOE in the Burgos municipality of Briviesca, where they accuse the new government team, the PP, of having made the decision for political reasons, while the popular ones allude to economic and technical reasons.
