On a spring morning, I was able to capture these images for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia of the musical despertar de los bejarucos in the surroundings of Manlleu, in the region of Osona. In the video we can hear his singing.

This migratory bird returns to these lands every year and, in autumn, when its chicks are ready to undertake a long flight, they leave again for warmer territories.

The bee-eater is one of the most attractive birds, as can be seen in the images. As its name indicates, it is a specialist in capturing bees and also other flying insects.

It is an unmistakable bird, given the multitude of colors it has: blue on the chest, greenish on the belly, cinnamon head, yellow neck and a black stripe that adorns its eye. It has a typical insectivore beak, long, thin and somewhat curved.

They like areas where insects abound. Their very showy colors stand out, like many African birds, and they have nests on the edges of roads. They are deep holes in the ground.
