The twenty-second edition of the Lleida Municipal Fair, grows by 20% in area this year and will break the participation record of up to 351 exhibitors.
It is a biennial contest that is specifically aimed at the municipal world since it brings together companies related to the services that the populations require, so the exponential audience in view is mayors, councilors and technicians. In the last edition there were about 18,000 visitors.
This year there are 27,000 square meters of exhibition area that have had to be adapted to the works of the Crystal pavilion and that is why tents have been located outside the venue. Municipalia is complemented by Innocamping, which is celebrating its 6th edition dedicated to outdoor equipment and services.
Municipalia and Innocamping will take place next week at the Fira de Lleida facilities, from October 17 to 19.
The president of the Provincial Council Joan Talarn highlighted this Tuesday in the presentation that the contest is already a “reference” in Catalonia and also in Spain.
He noted that visitors come from “from all over, including Portugal, the south of France and Italy.” This year the largest edition will be held and apart from the 351 exhibitors, there will be around fifty parallel activities. Also notable is the visit of 55 international representatives to the event, mainly from Latin America.
The president of the Lleida Chamber of Commerce, Jaume Saltó, has highlighted that exhibitors have been left out of the event since there was no more space to place them. To cover the surface of the Palau de Vidre and meet the demand for covered surface, tents of 5,550 square meters have been installed on the side of pavilion 4. Two rooms for conferences and presentations with a capacity of 200 people have also been built adjacent to the separate tents. of those already existing in pavilion 4.
Likewise, Saltó has assured that Municipalia is consolidating itself as a reference in the international arena and has added that “we must ensure” that the fair stays in Lleida and grows even more.
For his part, the director of Fira de Lleida, Oriol Oró, has said that the growth that this fair has experienced this year is in the increase in exhibitors from different sectors.
Oró has highlighted that the issue of water will have a “relevant” role, especially in the conferences and debates, as already happened at the Sant Miquel agricultural fair that was held in September.
In this sense, within the framework of Innocamping there will be a day on how to face the challenge of climate change in these leisure spaces.
Within the framework of Municipalia, however, there are many conferences that revolve around aspects such as electric mobility, ecological foundations, sustainable solutions for city management, biogas and landfill management or urban biodiversity and Sustainable bird management in urban environments.
