The Mossos d’Esquadra and the Civil Guard are carrying out some twenty searches at the offices of Ambulancias Egara, which since 2015 has managed medical transport in various areas of Catalonia, in an anti-corruption operation directed by the National Court.
According to Crónica Global and sources close to the case have confirmed to EFE, agents of the Catalan police and the armed institute are searching several Egara Ambulance headquarters to collect documentation on suspicious operations.
Some investigated in the case, which is kept secret, are linked to cases such as the 3% and the Catalan production company Triacom, which splashed leaders of the extinct CDC, according to sources.
Founded in 1984 by Jaime Simon Planas (1937-2019), Ambulancias Egara has been managing Catsalut’s Urgent and Non-Urgent Medical transport since 2006, initially in the Barcelona region of Vallès Occidental, and since 2015 in Lleida, Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l ‘Hebrew.
In addition, in mid-2020 it became the reference provider in Aragon with the Transalud Joint Venture for the provision of non-urgent medical transport services and began operations in Andorra with Valira Ambulances.
