The Mossos d’Esquadra have dismantled an alleged criminal group specialized in armed robberies in nine homes in Barcelona, ??Mataró, Badalona, ??Esplugues and Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
They have arrested three men and a woman between 23 and 35 years old who have accumulated 21 records for robberies with force in homes and other acts against property, according to a statement from the Catalan police this Monday.
The Mossos began the investigation in August after receiving complaints about events “with a similar modus operandi” and advanced the arrests – which they finally carried out in Sant Adrià de Besòs (Barcelona) on February 16 – due to the intention of three of those investigated to leave. of Catalonia to avoid police action.
They carried out three entries and searches and located “many” electronic devices, watches, gold jewelry and costume jewelry, as well as tools to force doors. The police have described the recording of the farms’ security cameras as “key”, they have warned that they are keeping the investigation open and do not rule out more arrests.
The detainees visited the block of flats set as the target “several times”: they forced the gate doors and placed markers with glue in some of the homes, which they checked a couple of days later to see if they were intact and, in this case , they completed the robbery.
They only entered homes whose model and brand of lock they had previously practiced with.
