In these images in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can observe the moon over the bell tower of the church of Castellfollit de la Roca, in La Garrotxa, as well as the river Fluvià with little water and a radiant sky that accompanies the whole scene.
As can be seen, the church crowned by the moon is located on the edge of the basaltic cliff, at the foot of which this series of photographs has been taken.
Its origin is Romanesque but it has undergone numerous modifications due, first, to the earthquakes of the 15th century and, later, to the wars. From the primitive temple, it preserves a late Romanesque window on the south wall and a large number of reused ashlars.
The first time it is documented is in the middle of the fourteenth century. However, the old church was built at the end of the 11th or beginning of the 12th century.
For its part, the Fluvià river rises in the mountains of Collsacabra and flows into the Mediterranean in the marshes of Empordà, near Sant Pere Pescador, after traveling 70 km through the regions of Garrotxa and Alt Empordà.
