On a day like today, a clear example of the “estiuet de Sant Martí”, the good weather is appreciated and it cannot be less appreciated to be able to contemplate a sunrise like the one in the image I share in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos.

The snapshot is taken from the Tarragona train station, from where the Mediterranean Sea can be seen from the Miracle beach of this city.

The veroño, that summer atmosphere that is being recorded this autumn, seems to resist disappearing, with temperatures, once again, very pleasant at the beginning of the week in Catalonia.

In parallel, there is no trace of rain, which continues the persistent drought. And in the skies, at sunrise and sunset, the intense glare predominates, as in this case in Tarragona. It seems that the day is born in flames.

The candilazo is a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors that ranges from pink to the most intense orange.

As part of the phenomenon of dispersion of sunlight, in the morning and afternoon hours, when the sun is closer to the horizon, the light that reaches the Earth is soft tones between red and orange.
