The marks of the drought are still perceptible on the banks of the Llosa del Cavall reservoir, as can be seen in this photographic report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.
The level of the swamp is at 22%, when last year around these same dates it was at 45%. In addition, the average of the last 5 years is 68%.
The Llosa del Cavall reservoir drinks from the Cardener river, a tributary of the Llobregat. The dam is located in the municipality of Navés and the swamp also extends through Guixers and a small portion of Sant Llorenç de Morunys, between the mountains of Busa, to the east, and Capdevila, to the west.
The reservoir, whose double-turned arch dam is 122 meters high, receives its name from the wooded and sparsely populated area known as La Llosa del Cavall.
To the west of the swamp, is the Lord’s Sanctuary, which dominates the landscape, which now has to live with the lack of water and its consequences.
