The Maria Rosa Sans Foundation, which since 2018 has helped students from the Garrotxa region so they can go to university, has awarded scholarships this year to two students from two educational centers in Olot.
The beneficiaries are Mireia Payet, from the IES Bosc de la Coma, and Yiqi Wang, from the Escola d’Art d’Olot, who, thanks to these grants, will be able to pursue a degree in Pedagogy at the University of Girona (UdG) and a degree of Animation and Digital Art at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, respectively.
The aid will be used to finance registration costs and mandatory fees, as well as accommodation, food, travel and teaching materials for the students during the school year.
For the scholarship recipients, the foundation itself will assign a mentor who will monitor their evolution and be able to guide them in their learning process during their degree. The mentors are professionals from different fields linked to the chosen university studies.
Since 2018, the Foundation, created at the initiative of the Boix-Bosch families, at the head of the Noel Alimentaria company, and Boix-Bonfill, has donated more than 127,000 euros so that students with few resources can receive university education. In total there are 16 students who have received scholarships during these years.
The Foundation has the support of eNOel and the collaboration of the Funfació ‘la Caixa’.
