Interned in a hospital to be treated for the mental health problems that, a priori, it seems that he suffers. This is the decision adopted by the Court of First Instance number 16 of Granada, in its role as the Disability Court, regarding the man who barricaded himself for eight hours in his home in Las Gabias under the threat of exploding several butane cylinders.
It will be at the Health Campus Hospital where the arrested person will be treated, as this newspaper has learned, and where he will remain for the necessary time, until the medical team considers it appropriate, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia. .
The decision imposes on the doctors of the hospital center the obligation to inform the court every six months about the need to prolong the confinement or to end it, either by discharge from the hospital or by transfer to another center of the patient who, for His behavior seems to suffer from mental problems.
The judicial order also empowers those responsible for medical care so that, in the event that the patient violates the confinement measure, they can adopt the necessary measures for his rehospitalization, including requiring police assistance and without the need to request prior judicial authorization.
The resolution has been notified to the health center where the detainee is admitted and to the Granada Prosecutor’s Office, and an appeal can be filed against it before the Provincial Court of Granada within a period of 20 days.
The man, 66 years old and investigated for the crimes of serious threats and damage, was arrested on the 21st after remaining barricaded in his home for eight hours under the threat of exploding several butane cylinders.
