To err once is wise, to err continually is foolish. Alberto Casero is a PP politician, who has been mayor of Trujillo, senator of the Kingdom of Spain and deputy in Congress. Quite a career for someone who has not given one to the right. Which, being from the party that he was, is especially serious. But for the left, the man is almost a reference, since on February 3, 2022, by mistake, he voted electronically in favor of the validation of the labor reform proposed by the Government of Pedro Sánchez. Without his favorable vote, the decree would not have received the green light and the left would have suffered a heavy defeat on an issue that was central to the Socialists.

Not satisfied with committing this fiasco for his own, seven months later he screwed up again by voting in favor of creating a commission to investigate the responsibility of the government of Mariano Rajoy in the Catalonia operation, for the alleged irregularities of the Ministry of the Interior that he directed Jorge Fernandez Diaz. His entire party opposed it and Casero was the only one to vote in favor. Again she made a mess with the computer and with his career.

Shortly after, the Supreme Court cited him as a defendant in a case of prevarication in his time as mayor of Trujillo for a series of public contracts. The man who was too wrong has it wrong, to the point that he has ended up giving up his seat and has asked to leave his militancy in the PP.

An eminence such as Saint Augustine warned that to err was human, but to persevere voluntarily in the error was diabolic. I don’t know if Casero is ready to be exorcised, but so much error must have an esoteric explanation. Perhaps it would be enough to call Iker Jiménez, from Cuarto Milenio, to see if he finds an answer to his case.

By the way, in Trujillo these days they no longer talk about their former mayor, but about the Californian company Diamond Foundry, which has just laid the first stone of its diamond factory in the town. The company has Leonardo di Caprio among its major shareholders. The choice of the square makes sense: there they have a real jewel in Alberto Casero.
