The PP of Madrid has requested in various areas the resignation of the municipal spokesperson of the PSOE-M, Reyes Maroto, for her comments on the agreements of the Government of Pedro Sánchez with Bildu that the former minister justifies by arguing that they have served to “improve the lives of the Spanish”.

The first to do so was the mayor himself, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, who has summoned the general secretary of the PSOE-M, Juan Lobato, to decide whether Maroto can continue to be spokesperson. An attack that would be joined, minutes later, by the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

“It seems to me that Reyes Maroto is doing an exercise in whitewashing Bildu and Arnaldo Otegi,” Almeida said about some words for which the PSOE municipal spokesperson “must apologize immediately.”

This is how Almeida spoke at the press conference after the Government Meeting, in which, in principle, he was not going to participate, in reference to an interview by Maroto published this Thursday by El Mundo.

In it, Maroto defends the negotiations with Bildu within the framework of the search for support from the PSOE in view of the upcoming investiture of the PSOE candidate for the Presidency of the Government and acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

For Almeida, the socialist spokesperson is “disqualified from representing all Madrid residents”, although she has pointed out that, in principle, the PP is not going to ask for the disapproval of the socialist councilor in the plenary session because, although they are statements that ” They cross all the red lines”, enter the “sphere of freedom of expression”, a right that the popular people “respect”.

“I hope that the person who takes a step forward is (the general secretary of the PSOE-M) Juan Lobato, and that he will clarify for us if he considers that Reyes Maroto, spokesperson for the socialist municipal group, is in a position to continue being such after the statements he has made.” “made money laundering against Bildu and ETA today,” he added.

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has also addressed the PSOE spokesperson in the Madrid Assembly, Juan Lobato, to convey to her colleague in the Madrid City Council, Reyes Maroto, that “Bildu has not contributed nothing to Spanish democracy.”

Ayuso has slipped that people abroad “see how we modify the laws according to criminals” and added: “tell this to your colleague in the City Council: Bildu has not contributed anything to Spanish democracy, believe me.”

Along these lines, the spokesperson for the Popular Group, Carlos Díaz-Pache, has pointed out that the PSOE is “with pacts of shame, like this one, in which they say that “With Bildu we are better.” “These are the pacts of shame!” He has settled.
