The Las Dunas campsite, recognized as the best in Spain

The Las Dunas family campsite, in Sant Pere Pescador, on the Costa Brava, has been recognized as the best in Spain at the ASCI awards, awarded by the Auto Camper Service International camping guide, a benchmark in the sector.

The establishment, founded in 1968, has opted in recent years to promote several improvements in favor of sustainability. In its 30 hectares it has 700 photovoltaic panels, 250 thermal panels and geothermal technology. In addition, 90% of the campsite’s vehicle fleet is electric, and the facilities have four charging points for customers. The swimming pools have saline chlorination, and the facades of the toilets recycle CO2 from the atmosphere. “We have been betting on this line for a long time, but also on the quality of our facilities,” highlighted yesterday the director and second generation of the family business, Frederic Suñé, who was satisfied with an award that is awarded based on the votes of clients from all over Europe.

Located facing the sea, on the beach of Sant Pere Pescador, the campsite, with more than 1,600 pitches and 150 bungalows, has participated in the European project Impetus, for adaptation to climate change. Specifically, thanks to public-private collaboration, they have promoted a dune regeneration initiative, which allows protection from the consequences of climate change much better than other elements such as promenades or boardwalks.
