Almost a year has passed since the Firefighters managed to stabilize the devastating forest fire at Pont de Vilomara, in the Bages region. And the landscape has turned green again, although with the drought and high temperatures, the risk of another fire is back.

In this photographic report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, you can see how the vegetation is regrowth, especially thanks to the recent rains.

The flames burned, in July of last year, more than 1,750 hectares in a fire that forced the eviction of nearly 200 residents.

The tragedy hit the Bages again with another great forest fire. The flames even burned nearly 450 hectares within the domains of the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac natural park.

But, as these photographs show, nature shows a great power of regeneration and, although the traces of fire can still be seen on the bark of the trees, the vegetation has once again filled the landscape with green this spring.
