One more year, and it’s already been 33, the L’Hora del Jazz-Memorial Tete Montoliu festival will fill the streets of Catalonia with music, bringing a hint of joy to the return of the holidays. A total of 16 free performances or at more than affordable prices scheduled from September 9 to October 1 to make the new – and not so new – local jazz talents available to all audiences.

The Luismi Segurado Trio will kick off at Teatro Francesc Macià de Centelles on September 9 (9:30 p.m.), in a concert where the pianist from Salamanca will be accompanied by Santi Colomer on drums and the Japanese Masa Kamaguchi on double bass, presenting his third work , ‘Elfrieda’, dedicated to pianist Mary Lou Williams. A taste of what will be the festival organized by the Association of Jazz Musicians and Modern Music of Catalonia, which will expand from Barcelona to locations throughout the principality. In addition to Lleida, Tarragona and Girona, concerts have been scheduled in Centelles, Sant Vicenç dels Horts, Vilafranca del Penedés, Bigues i Riells, Granollers, Olot and Sitges.

Among the musical proposals, the trio formed by Horacio Fumero on double bass stands out along with Guillem Arnedo on drums and Dani Pérez on guitar, who will perform compositions by the three musicians with roots in Argentine music, as well as jazz standards (9/16 , 8:30 p.m., Espai Orfeó Lleidatà). The pianist Elisabet Raspall also stands out, who will offer at the Vinseum of Vilafranca (9/23, 8:30 p.m.) a review of her songs accompanied by Marc Miralta, Dani Pérez and Jordi Mestres. Not far away, in Sitges, vocalist Xavier Casellas will be in charge on October 1st of closing the festival (Utopia Beach house, 1 p.m.) with a retrospective of three of his albums in a tour of the styles mastered by this musician from Calella, who has developed his career with one foot in Barcelona and the other in New York.

Along with these names, those of the duo formed by Marta Garrett and Andreu Zaragoza appear on the program, who will perform on September 17 (7 p.m.) at La Capsa de Música in Tarragona, while The Moonrivers

The culmination of all these concerts will be the three performances that will take place in the Plaza de la Vila de Gracia that will take place on Sundays at 6 p.m., starting on the 10th with the concerts of the Oriol Vallès Quartet presenting Cap clar and the Mar Serra Grup with the project will kick off in the Vila de Gracia square (6 p.m.). On September 17 it will be the turn of the duo Ismael Dueñas and Abril Sanglas together with the ONC Trio, while on the 24th it will be the pianist Jordi Berni’s performance in trio format with José López and Guillem Arnedo, followed by the Barcelona Jazz Septet.
