King Felipe is spending a few days in Palma and this Sunday he went out to dinner with a group of friends at an Italian restaurant in the center of the Balearic capital. Don Felipe has traveled alone to visit his mother, Queen Sofía, who is already in Marivent this weekend, as is usual during these dates.

The Kings have not reported for now whether they will spend Holy Week in Mallorca and will attend the Easter Sunday mass in the Cathedral, as was customary until last year, when this tradition was broken. Most likely, they decide to spend a few days with the family since the Infanta Leonor returns on vacation at this time.

Don Felipe is traveling back to Madrid this Monday as he will sign the decree calling for the municipal elections on May 28 this afternoon in his office in La Zarzuela. The call for elections will be published this Tuesday in the Official State Gazette.

The King had dinner at the Sandro restaurant, a moment that its owner, Sandro Putignano, has collected in some images published on his Instagram account. “Yesterday we had the honor of receiving His Majesty King Felipe in our restaurant. It was a very special moment for our entire team and we are very grateful for his visit,” he wrote in the account.

The King has taken advantage of these days to visit his mother, without the Queen or the infantas Leonor and Sofía. Also last year the King traveled alone to Palma to make this visit. Queen Sofía has already been installed in the Marivent Palace since last week and this Monday she plans to attend a concert in the Cathedral of Palma to benefit the Proyecto Hombre, another of the traditions of Mallorcan Holy Week.

It so happens that Iñaki Urdangarin was also in Mallorca a few days ago, staying at a hotel near the Palacio de Marivent. Urdangarin traveled in the company of his partner, Ainhoa Armentia. It is the first visit to Mallorca of which there is public record since the trial of the Nóos case was held.
