The judge of the National Court (AN) investigating Tsunami Democràtic and its role in the riots that followed the sentences for 1-O in the fall of 2019 has agreed to accept the appearance of Vox and the association of victims of terrorism Dignity and Justice in the case.
In an order issued this Tuesday, the head of the central court of investigation 6 has “as a person” the group led by Santiago Abascal and the association in exchange for “after providing a bond of 200 euros to respond to the results of the trial.” “.
It should be remembered that the magistrate opened this case in 2019 to clarify the role that the platform would have had in the riots that followed the convictions of the independence leaders. Last May the magistrate lifted the secrecy of the proceedings.
One of the issues that came under scrutiny at the time was that Tsunami Democràtic used a mobile application for its protest actions, including the attempted assault on the Barcelona-El Prat Airport, the cutting of the Jonquera border or the repeated protests with barricades in front of the Police Headquarters on Via Laietana.
It was in August 2021 when the head of the court, Manuel García-Castellón, added part of Voloh to this secret case, another case where the investigating court 1 of Barcelona, ??headed by Joaquín Aguirre, investigates the alleged diversion of public funds to finance the independence process.
The link between both cases would allegedly be the former ERC councilor Xavier Vendrell, who was arrested in the framework of Voloh, and to whom Judge Joaquín Aguirre attributes “the directing activity and direct participation” in the actions of Tsunami Democràtic during the autumn of 2019.
Within the framework of the case, last June the instructor asked the Barcelona City Council to quantify the economic damage caused by the damage caused in the protests of the independence platform.
Specifically, the judge urged the council to calculate the damages “caused as a result of the events that occurred in the city of Barcelona after the match was held on December 18, 2019” between the Catalans and Real Madrid.
In the same way, it asked the Barcelona City Council to quantify the valuation of the costs, the special remunerations, if any, as well as any other additional expenses resulting from said damages and the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda to report in relation to the economic quantification of the damage caused after the action carried out by Tsunami at El Prat airport on October 14, 2019.
In the same sense, the judge asked the Ministry to provide data on the “economic damage caused during the cuts carried out between November 11 and 13, 2019 on the AP7.”
This request from the judge came after the Civil Guard urged him in a letter to “carry out a complete quantification of the damages caused or as a consequence of the actions of the organization Tsunami Democràtic” in order to “know the estimate of the related economic impact.” with the aforementioned actions.
