The incipient spring in the landscape of Urgell

In this winter route in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos, with glimpses of incipient spring through landscapes of the Urgell region, we are going to see images of flowering trees, planted fields and beautiful sunsets.

We begin the tour with these photographs captured on the Conill plateau, with the Vall de Sió in the background. I have marked each place in one of the snapshots to serve as a guide.

Conill is a small, now unpopulated town near the city of Tàrrega, about 7 km away. It is located in Plans de Sió, a subregion of the Segarra plateau, on whose plains crop fields are common, located at about 350 meters above sea level. The closest towns are the towns of Claravalls, La Figuerosa and Altet.

Not far from Conill we find, believe it or not, these fields planted and the crops are being born and growing. They are images of the surroundings of Altet.

At the foot of the road from Altet to Conill we find these three almond trees. In one the flowers are pink, while the other two have white flowers.

I have never known why, I don’t know if they are a different type or how it seems to me, that the pink ones are newborn, since after a few days the flowers turn white.

And now returning home, to Altet, from Conill, I photographed this sunset that, once again, is marked by its color.
