The new temple of music for mega-concerts, The Sphere, built in Las Vegas – in the middle of the desert – served as a venue for the iconic Irish rock band U2 to return to the US stage last Friday night.

The imposing architecture and its visual effects led Bono’s group to elevate the event to a higher musical level. It has 1.2 million LED screens on the outside and is 111 meters high.

The musical band, which has 22 Grammys in its history, offered two masterful hours of rock, with images in different dimensions and in the background a flag and the Las Vegas skyline.

More than 18,000 people attended one of the musical events of the year. The stadium, located at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, will host more than 25 shows weekly until mid-December. Stars such as Paul McCartney, Oprah, LeBron James, Dr Dre, among others, such as Dakota Fanning and MarĂa Sharapova, attended the U2 concert.
