We already have a representative from Spain at Eurovision 2024! The third edition of the Benidorm Fest has proclaimed Nebulossa the winner and hers ‘ZORRA’, one of the favorites from the beginning. More than 820 songs competed in the RTVE festival, and among them, only 16 were selected to participate in the prestigious event.
The grand finale, which took place last Saturday, February 3, brought together eight outstanding artists: María Peláe, st. Pedro, Angy, Jorge González, Nebulossa, Sofía Coll, Miss Caffeina and Almácor. The demoscopic audience, the professional jury and the televoting issued their verdict, crowning a representative who will carry the Spanish flag at Eurovision 2024.
However, among the songs presented, one in particular, “ZORRA” by Nebulossa, stood out for its provocative lyrics. Phrases such as “If I go out alone I’m the slut; if I have fun, I’m the sluttiest. If I go on and it’s daylight, I’m even more of a slut” highlight the band’s intention to address gender stereotypes and challenge social perceptions through its music.
These provocative and reflective lyrics become a fundamental component of Nebulossa’s proposal, with which Eurofans have sympathized, who have sung the song in full force.
Nebulossa has closed the Benidorm Fest with one last song. Now she will have to prepare because now the big thing is coming. How will Sweden receive “ZORRA”? The Song Festival takes place from May 7 to 11, so we will be watching how this unique and transgressive performance evolves.
