On stage, there are six Los Vivancos, although as a family there are forty siblings. Now, after sixteen years with them, the second of the six artists, Aarón Vivancos, has taken his path since in 2019 he decided to create his own project. From there was born “a support center for talent” and the show Woman, more than a musical, which stops for three weeks at the Poliorama theater in Barcelona.

“The show is summed up in a moving message”, declares the artist. To do this, he tells a story that is not exactly a path of roses: “The central act is a relationship that becomes tense and unpleasant. With this we want to launch two messages. The first, to avoid with education that our children do not end up being violent or victims. And the second, a message of strong conscience so that we continue working to avoid that ”.

“The show is a reflection through various moments in the lives of women with music”, continues Aarón Vivancos. “From the iconography of herstory, the musical presents a reflection on situations that many women have experienced at different times in their lives. The work evokes the creative resilience of the women who move the world by championing life”.

In Woman, “the dance that we present is narrative dance, avant-garde flamenco, with the powerful heel tapping that we usually do.” The choreography is a creation of Aarón and Elías Vivancos. And the music is performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. “I like how Fernando Velázquez composes (The Impossible) and I have been inspired by several of his songs to compose them with Gonzalo García”.

As for the text, the director has had the collaboration of Pilar G. Almansa, who has written “a free verse”. The Woman show is completed with projections on the stage “that interact with the dance”.

After performing in Madrid and Mexico, and before traveling to Turkey in August, returning to Madrid and facing an international tour in 2024, Aarón plays for the first time in Barcelona the only role in the play reserved for a man: “I do of bad. Until now, I didn’t participate in the scenario, because everything I do takes me a lot of time, especially the start-up of the center. I suppose it is because of the illusion of being at home, after touring more than 60 countries”, explains the Reus-born artist.

The “talent support and cultural development center” is a 2000 m2 space in Alcobendas, the Aarón Vivancos Talent Center. “As an artist I feel very satisfied and I want to accompany other people to make their way.”

The artist reveals that some of his students perform their works on stage before the show, as opening acts. Each day is a different group, up to 18, which are the days they will be at the Poliorama, from June 6 to 25.
