I captured this series of photographs for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia de la Girona of the bridges and rivers under the moon. The snapshots are perspectives, with the cathedral focused from different points, from the Pont de Pedra, the Pont Palanques Vermelles and from the Pont Major.
The Onyar River, a source of the Ter, receives within Girona the waters that come from the Monar or Conda irrigation canal, which crosses the Mercadal and irrigates the orchards there.
Further north, the waters of the Güell join it, next to the railway, and almost in front of its confluence with it, the waters of the Galligans join. About 300 meters away, the Onyar flows into the Ter, in the neighborhood of Pedret.
The Onyar crosses the city from south to north, dividing it into two unequal parts, the largest of which, the oldest, is on the right bank; and the smallest, the most modern, in continuous growth, is located entirely on the plain and in the Mercadal, on the left bank.
For its part, the cathedral of Santa Maria de Girona is located at the highest point of the city. It has the widest Gothic nave in the world, with a total width of 22.98 meters.
