Ximo Puig has announced in Orihuela that this Friday the Plenary of the Consell will approve the extension until the end of the year of free public transport for those under 30 years of age and a 50% general discount for all users of Generalitat transport (Metrovalencia , TRAM Alacant, TRAM Castellón and intercity buses). The bonus ran out this July, but according to Puig it will remain active until the end of 2023.

This measure is in addition to the one agreed by the Valencia City Council for which the corporation has accepted the six-month extension, approved by Royal Decree-Law of the Government of Spain, to subsidize 30% of public transport passes, and will co-finance this aid up to 50%, so that the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) maintains the price of different multi-trip tickets reduced by half during the next semester. Specifically, the consistory will allocate 880,000 euros to lower the price of trips with the EMT.
