The urbanization works of the future Vilansats d’Organyà industrial estate (Alt Urgell) could begin at the end of this year or the beginning of 2024, as indicated by the mayor of the municipality, Celestí Vilà, who has detailed that the project is almost ready. At the moment, the council has already tendered the works, which will begin in a couple of months, so that it reaches the water supply in the area, located near the C-14 highway.

Despite the fact that the area for industrial use will reach 34 hectares, making it the largest in the entire region, a first phase of five hectares is expected to be carried out. Later, it is contemplated that a part of the energy that the polygon will need is generated from an installation of photovoltaic panels.

Vilà has highlighted that there is “a lot of interest” on the part of various companies to settle in the industrial estate and that of the close to a dozen that have already formalized it, there is one from Andorra. He has also said that he believes that the equipment “will mark a before and after” in Organyà and has valued the fact that the industrial area is located in the central part of Alt Urgell.

The new polygon, which will involve an investment of nearly 3 million euros, will have direct access from the C-14. Specifically through a central island that will allow the entry and exit maneuver to be carried out and which is expected to be carried out before the end of the year.

In the first phase of works, the water will come from the Font Bordonera area, but, with a view to the expansion, it will be pumped from the Segre river. This project will also allow the construction of a treatment plant for the municipality.
