The scandal of Barça’s payments to Enríquez Negreira, vice president of the Referees Committee until 2018, continues to grow. According to Infolibre, the Football Leaks papers detail all the payments made by the Barça entity to the former referee between 2001 and 2017, and two new companies through which they billed the club are brought to light.
On the one hand, Negreira collected for years, alternating his companies, through Nidsal SCP (Private Civil Society) and Dasnil 95 SL – the same name backwards. While the club’s payments to Javier Enríquez Romero, son of the former referee, were made through a third company, Soccercam SL. The Prosecutor’s Office also maintains that the payments to the son were made through Tresep 2014 SL, a company linked to Josep Contreras, a Barça manager who died last December. As his intermediary, Contreras charged commissions of up to 50% of the amounts paid to Javier Enríquez.
According to this information from Infolibre, the first disbursement to Enríquez Negreira was made with Joan Gaspart as president, who did not continue to pay him. When Joan Laporta held that position, in 2003, he did not pay him until the 2005/2006 season, when he began to collect Nilsad, the former referee’s private civil society. Laporta presided over the club until 2010. Then Rosell arrived, until 2014, then Bartomeu until 2020.
Enríquez Negreira billed Barça through Nilsad until the 2015/2016 season, when he used Dasnil 95 again for that purpose. Nisdal’s receipts between the 2005/2006 season and the 2014/2015 season total 4.37 million euros. In the next one, he invoices half a Nisdal exercise and half a Dasnil 95, a total of 521,613 euros. In the 2016/2017 season, Dasnil 95 receives 157,528 euros. If 21% VAT is added to these figures, the total amount received by Enríquez Negreira amounts to 6.2 million euros since 2001. And without counting the 2017/2018 season, when the former referee left the vice president of the CTA and the club stopped paying him for his technical advice.
Therefore, according to the club’s accounts to which Football Leaks has had access, Enríquez Negreira received amounts below 200,000 euros in 2001 and 2005, but his fees grew over time, until almost touching 729,000 euros in the season 2013/2014. Since the 2009/2010 season they have always been above half a million. The payments were monthly, normally between 40,000 and 50,000 euros, except those that closed each season, in June, when that amount doubled or even tripled, up to 125,000 or 145,000 euros. These larger payments were also made in the invoices for the months of December in some years.
In the Excel where Barça collects the disbursements to Tresep 2014, the Josep Contreras company, 10 payments are recorded between January 2015 and November 2016, for a total amount of 394,460 euros, VAT included. But the bills weren’t monthly; they were usually issued every two months. The concept that appears in them is quite vague: “For the provision of various educational-sports services”, with the issuance of “reports on the participation of various actors in the different sports competitions and the monitoring of aspects that may be of interest in the future in said educational-sports field”.
