In the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can enjoy today these images of the radiant spring of Santa Perpètua de Vespella, on the same border line between the municipalities of Gurb and Santa Cecília de Voltregà.
Given its location, this chapel is a visible point from afar and, in addition, frequently visited by devout hikers. It crowns a peak 790 meters high, between the depressions of the Tuta torrent and the Sorreigs Valley.
It belongs to the parish of Vespella. Its origin is confusing, although it is known that, in 1356, it received a bull of indulgences to promote its cult. Saint Perpètua has her feast day on March 7 and her cult has been very popular since ancient times.
The current building has a rectangular floor plan and appears to have been replaced, or at least substantially repaired, in the 17th or early 18th century.
The temple has a classic Romanesque orientation and a Gothic stone saint is venerated on its simple altar. Outside, in spring, the flowers shine in the rays of the sun.
