The fire of a vehicle inside a tunnel has caused six people to suffer minor poisoning due to smoke inhalation and has forced the closure of Barcelona’s Ronda Litoral for two hours.

As reported by the Barcelona Urban Police, the fire is now extinguished and none of the six poisoned people have needed to be taken to the hospital.

The fire occurred around 11:00 a.m. on the B-10 near Pla de Palau (Barcelona) and has forced the evacuation of the tunnel and cutting off traffic in both directions of the road.

As confirmed by Barcelona City Council, the circulation of the Ronda Litoral in the Llobregat direction has been reestablished around 1:00 p.m., and in the Besòs direction, one lane remains closed to carry out safety checks inside the tunnel.
