In the Ebro Delta there is a cemetery of beautiful boats, some of which I have photographed for this photographic report in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos.

Very close to the town of L’Ampolla (Baix Ebre), there is a very interesting and curious little corner, known as the Cementeri de les Barques.

The old boats sink, creating these images of colors and old woods that integrate with nature.

We are in the largest wetland area in Catalonia and one of the most important in Western Europe, where another constant in the landscape are the rice fields.

The Ebro Delta is above all a unique landscape, a natural park that houses several protected areas with restricted access. One of them is Punta del Fangar, a space with peculiar dunes that extend for six kilometers along the sea.

The Ebro Delta is also the kingdom of birds in Catalonia, as 95 species nest here, but many others winter, rest and feed during migrations. Altogether, this area is home to 316 species of common birds and about 360 of the 600 recorded birds in Europe.
