The driver of the van that fatally ran over two cyclists last Tuesday in the Valencian town of Montserrat and then fled has been arrested in Madrid, sources from the Civil Guard informed EFE this Thursday.
The driver had already been identified and his arrest was made, after an event that occurred at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday at kilometer 8 of the CV-50 highway, in the municipality of Montserrat.
One of the hit cyclists, aged 70, died instantly, and another aged 73 was able to be revived and transferred to La Fe hospital in Valencia, where he died hours later.
At this time no information has been provided regarding the identity of the detained driver and the circumstances of the arrest.
