First lights, no clouds, fog on the ground. This is how I have portrayed this spring dawn in the surroundings of Manlleu, in the Osona region, for La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos.
In some areas, the popular “Pubilla de la Plana de Vic”, that is, the fog of Osona, is also known as “broma baixa”. Basically, it’s when a sea of ??fog comes down and covers everything.
It must be taken into account that the Osona region is the place in Spain with the most days of fog, a hundred a year. And it can also be seen in spring.
When cold air from higher altitudes descends and pools on this sunken plain, water vapor condenses into microscopic droplets. This is how a sea of ??fog is produced that is a characteristic part of the landscape.
The bright orange sky accompanies the spring dawn of Manlleu, but it is the fog at ground level that gives the scene an air of mystery.
