After spending several days under the spotlight for her unsuccessful approach to the PP, aborted with intemperate boxes by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, Begoña Villacís announced early in the afternoon that she continues in Ciudadanos and that she aspires to repeat as mayor.

Visibly nervous and heated, the deputy mayor of the capital made her statement in a solemn tone, but against a floral background that gave her press conference, broadcast live on the 24-Hour Spanish Television Channel, a strange air.

The reason for this decoration is due to the fact that Villacís has preferred to appear in a central Madrid hotel, on Mejía Lequerica street -close to Génova-, when the logical thing would have been to summon the media to the party headquarters and appear at the images on a stand with the renewed Ciudadanos logo. Or, in her absence, in the City Hall itself, of which she is vice mayor.

But Villacís has preferred to avoid the headquarters of his party on the grounds that he has not yet officially presented himself to the primaries, and the Cibeles courtyard for not mixing his management as vice mayor with internal party affairs.

However, the presence of Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo in the hotel also drew attention. Coincidence or not, the PP deputy for Barcelona was seen in the company of the journalist Arcadi Espada, one of the founders of Ciudadanos, in the same place and at the same time.
