Provide a definitive solution to the social problem of Cañada Real. That is the objective that the Rehousing Commission in Cañada Real intends to carry out to put an end to an area of ??Madrid with shanties and many social problems.
To this end, a meeting was held yesterday at the Government Delegation in Madrid to establish a general protocol of action for the implementation of an Extraordinary Rehousing Plan in the Cañada Real Galiana.
The meeting, at the initiative of the Government, had set as a roadmap to agree on a text of the protocol on relocation that outlines the commitments and actions to be carried out in the next ten years, indicates the Government Delegation in Madrid in a press release.
The text, called the general protocol of action between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda of Spain, the Department of Environment, Agriculture and Interior of the Community of Madrid, the Government Delegation in Madrid and the City Councils of Madrid and Rivas Vaciamadrid, is agrees to carry out the implementation of an Extraordinary Relocation Plan in the Cañada Real Galiana.
Regarding the estimated investment, a total of 330 million euros will be reached at a rate of 110 million euros for each of the three acting levels of administration, the Ministry of Housing, the Community of Madrid and the City Councils, in proportion to the number of families relocated in each municipality, details the statement made public yesterday afternoon.
The agreed text remains pending signature after the relevant update of positions currently responsible for the administrations involved and the development date of the plan, which is set between the years 2024-2034. At least, the roadmap has been designed to put an end to that socially and economically conflictive area and focus of drug sales. Many winters, the citizens who live there lack electricity and despite constant complaints, the path to follow to provide decent housing to these neighbors has never been established.
This protocol will be included in the roadmap of the Cañada Real Executive Committee that will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, March 6.
Coordinated by the subdelegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, the meeting was attended by the general director of Housing and Land of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, Francisco Javier Martín, and his deputy director, Anselmo Menéndez; the commissioners of the Cañada Real of the Community of Madrid, Ignacio Sánchez; and from the city councils of Madrid, Enrique César Núñez, and from Rivas Vaciamadrid, Pedro del Cura.
Also present were the managing director of the Social Housing Agency of the Community of Madrid, Eusebio González; the technician of the Commissioner of the Community of Madrid for the Cañada Real, Fernando Pascual; the general director of Social Inclusion of the Madrid City Council, Laura Castaños, and the CEO of the Municipal Housing and Land Company, Diego Lozano.
