Ford’s renunciation of European financing through the Perte of the electric vehicle known this Wednesday has left the rest of the participating companies without access to these European funds. Some are Valencian SMEs that accompanied the multinational in the project and that now will not be eligible for the subsidy.

That is why the Valencian Government has announced this Thursday that it will ask the central Executive for a specific program endowed with funds from this new phase of the Next Generation-EU so that the projects that have been left off the hook can be financed.

The general director of Coordination of Government Action, Juan Ángel Poyatos, explained that they are in talks with the central government, which they think will be “sensitive to their requests”, so that the second tranche of European funds can benefit these companies .

The Valencian automotive industry has had the Mobility Innovation Valencia (MIV) within the cluster that is AVIA for a few years to help companies in the transition towards the new sustainable and electric mobility.

The same was recently vindicated during Minister Montoro’s visit to Almussafes, before whom the president of AVIA, Mónica Alegre, explained that “the industry that wants to transform and evolve towards sustainable, electric and connected mobility and that is why it is made up of the innovative ecosystem and for the emerging companies that can provide quick and agile solutions to the challenges posed”.

Last year the MIV convened half a hundred companies and twenty experts in a meeting held at Feria Valencia, which will be held again this coming September 14, but in the City of Arts and Sciences.

For all these reasons, in the coming weeks the Valencian government will send formal documents to the central Executive where “all those needs and all those great strategic projects” will be transmitted, Poyatos pointed out.

Also next month the projects will be presented, in collaboration with other autonomous communities, in which the Valencian Executive is working: digital issues to improve the cybersecurity system and bet on artificial intelligence or health technology.

In this request, the Generalitat Valenciana will also transfer to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation the need for the second tranche of Next Generation-EU European funds to incorporate specific resources aimed at the Valencian Community to execute comprehensive recovery plans for the affected areas. because of the forest fires this summer.

The recently controlled Bejís or Vall d’Ebo fires would benefit from these aids, both declared as catastrophic areas by the Council of Ministers last Tuesday.
