The 81st edition of the Golden Globes had become one of the most anticipated. New owners, voters, categories and, ultimately, a new image that would leave behind the corruption and lack of diversity of the now defunct Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). In short, return the prestige and place that awards with so much history and reputation deserve to have.
A 2024 in which strikes by actors and scriptwriters to demand improvements in working conditions are not a necessity and thus end a murky chapter in the history of film and television. That is why this edition became more than just an awards ceremony, and the staging of all the guests has been fervent proof of this.
With all eyes on two of the great candidates for the awards, Greta Gerwig’s feminist satire, Barbie, the blockbuster ‘Oppenheimer’ or the musical documentary ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’, the actors and actresses have previously passed through the red carpet delighting her followers with her best clothes.
