The commissioner Ferran López has reinstated this Monday to the Mossos d’Esquadra, after two years of a leave of absence that he took to direct the security of Barça. A project that ultimately did not go well and after which he returns to the police, where he will take charge of the delegation in Madrid.

López appeared first thing in the morning at the Egara central complex in Sabadell, from where he will organize his landing in Madrid for the next two weeks. The idea that the commissioner transferred to the Minister of the Interior, Joan Ignasi Elena, when he accepted the position is to expand the perimeter of representation of the Mossos in the capital. Increasing relationships at the first level that the curator would be directly in charge of.

The Generalitat police currently has a fixed presence of five mossos, an inspector, two corporals and two agents, between the Secretary of State, in police cooperation organizations, and the National Court. A structure that at the moment is not touched and to which López will adapt.

It remains to be seen where he settles his base of operations, if he ends up having an office in the delegation of the Government of the Generaliat in Madrid, in the middle of Gran Via, or looks for another alternative. López is interested in being close to the Ministry of the Interior, the offices of the State Attorney General’s Office, the National Court and well connected with the Deputy Directors of Operations of the National Police and the Civil Guard. They are all more or less in the same ground zero in the center of the capital.

The commissioner returned “happy” to what has been his home since he joined in 1990, and where he has been escorted by the Interior Minister, Xavier Pomés, to one of the members of the first promotion of the Special Operational Group ( GHG). He set up the Hospitalet de Llboregat police station in the deployment and was climbing positions until he led the force after 155 and was deputy in the headquarters of Miquel Esquius, or paired with the commissioner Joan Carles Molinero of Josep Lluís Trapero, after his acquittal in a trial in which López decidedly rowed with the rest of the team that accompanied the major.
