The Civil Guard searches the accommodation of Luis Rubiales in the Dominican Republic

The Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard (UCO) has registered the temporary accommodation of the former president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, in the Dominican Republic, sources close to the case have confirmed.

The search, as Cadena SER has reported, was carried out yesterday by UCO agents together with members of the security forces and bodies of the Dominican Republic, where Rubiales has been for about two months.

The judge investigating the allegedly irregular contracts during Rubiales’ time as president of the RFEF ordered this registration to be carried out abroad within the framework of a piece for which secrecy of the proceedings has been decreed.

A few days ago, Rubiales’ house in Granada was also searched, as well as the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in search of possibly irregular contracts from the last five years, coinciding with Rubiales’ time at the head of the entity.

Rubiales is being investigated for an alleged crime of corruption and has assured that he will return to Spain next Saturday, April 6.
