The International Festival of Clowns celebrates its ninth edition in Sant Esteve de Palautordera, organized by the Cric Circus and the Vallesana City Council. The festival will bring together a hundred female clowns, who will offer shows and training courses.
Among the female clowns that will participate are the Swiss Gardi Hutter, who will deal with the art of improvisation; the French Catherine Germain (Arletti), who will give a master class on the awareness of the “inner being” and will present a show with Tortell Poltrona; and also French Élise Ouvrier-Buffet, who will offer a seminar on physical humor and the accidental gag.
Montserrat Trias, director of the festival and co-director of Circ Cric, states: “We claim laughter as a necessary tool in the world we live in and we claim gender equality. We have created a network of clowns, with 300 professionals connected. We are an army of women who make people laugh. We do not claim any superiority, but equality between everyone.
The singer-songwriter Núria Clotet, with La rateta ja no escombra l’escalate, will inaugurate the festival, which will be held in nine places in Sant Esteve, from September 29 to October 2.
