The children of Paul McCartney and John Lennon release a song

The most nostalgic Beatles lovers are in luck. The second musical generation led by the sons of Paul McCartney and John Lennon, James and Sean, has recently released a song titled Primrose Hill.

Although it is not a song by the legendary Liverpool band, the collaboration between the two first-borns evokes positive comments on social networks from many fans.

“I am very excited to share my latest song co-written with my good friend Sean Lennon. With the release of this song I feel like we are really getting things going,” wrote James McCartney on social media, sharing an image of the two protagonists and a fragment of the song, which on YouTube has already accumulated more than 270,000 views in five days.

The legendary Paul McCartney also shared the piece on his Facebook page. “My son James has a new song called Primrose Hill. Check it out! And lots of love to Sean Ono Lennon, who co-wrote the song.”

To connect fans with the song, James McCartney encourages them to share videos capturing “the essence of love and romance” in their favorite romantic locations with the song playing in the background. McCartney explained in an Instagram post that the song is inspired by memories of a summer day in Scotland when he was a child.

Primrose Hill is McCartney’s second release this year after returning with Beautiful in February, his first track since 2016. Sean Ono Lennon has a string of solo albums to his name, as well as performing with bands such as Cibo Matto, The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger and The Lennon Claypool Delirium.
