The baby that disappeared in the 1980s after her parents were discovered dead is now alive and well.
In 1981, “Baby Holly”‘s parents were found in the Houston woods. The bodies of Tina Gail Linn Clouse Jr. and Harold Dean Clouse Jr. were discovered in the woods of Houston in 1981. Their baby Holly, now 42, a mother of five from Oklahoma, was not found.
According to a Thursday news release from the Texas Attorney General, Holly was notified of the identities her biological parents. She has also connected with her extended family.
Holly’s aunt Cheryl Clouse said that it was “so exciting to see Holly”. I was so happy to see her for the first. It’s such a blessing that she is okay and has lived a happy life. All the family slept well last night.”
Brent Webster, the First Assistant Attorney General in Texas, spoke to reporters during a Thursday press conference about the ongoing investigation.
Webster stated, “While we are happy that Holly is now found and the families who have been searching for her for many decades rejoice, but we still need to find suspects in this case.”
Webster stated that Holly was brought to Arizona by two women who belonged to a nomadic religious group. Webster didn’t include any details on Holly’s fate after she left the church.
Webster said that the women who left Holly at church wore white robes, and they were barefoot.
Webster stated that Webster had spoken to Webster on Thursday. “They said they believed in the separation of males and females, and were vegetarian and did not use or wear leather goods.”
Webster stated that the group may have traveled to Arizona and California, as well as Texas. The group was seen asking for food in Yuma, Arizona, in the 1980s.
Holly’s parents received a phone call from “Sister Susan” in the late 1980s or early 1981. Sister Susan called from Los Angeles, claiming she wanted to return the car of the family. She stated that the couple had joined their religious group, and were giving up all their possessions.
She said that the couple did not want to be in touch with their families.
The family reached out to local authorities and agreed that Sister Susan would be available at the Daytona Racetrack in Florida. According to the family, they had met at least two or three women and perhaps a man. Webster stated that the women were dressed in robes and seemed to belong to the religious group.
Webster stated that the women were taken into custody by police, but no records are available to prove this. Webster stated that this was not unusual considering the age of the case.
Families last heard from the couple October 1980.
Webster encouraged people to share any information about the case.
Holly’s extended family is relieved to hear that Holly has been found.
Holly Linn Green’s aunt Sherry Linn said that Tina is finally at peace and Holly is reunited with her family. “I am relieved that Holly is still alive and well. She was well taken care of, but it also made me feel so much. She was a mother to that baby.
