The Band Perry Reunites for East Tennessee Hurricane Relief Benefit

The Band Perry, led by multi-platinum-selling country star Kimberly Perry, is reuniting for a special benefit concert in East Tennessee to aid in the relief efforts following Hurricane Helene. The band, consisting of Kimberly and her brothers Neil and Reid, will be performing at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Greeneville, Tennessee on January 25, 2025, to raise funds for AidNet of Greene County’s rebuilding efforts in the area devastated by the hurricane.

Kimberly Perry roots herself back home

Kimberly Perry, who recently released her solo album “Superbloom” in October 2023, felt a strong desire to return to her hometown of Greeneville after hearing about the impact of Hurricane Helene on the East Tennessee mountains. She moved back in April 2024, purchasing a historic home in the town where her parents still reside. Witnessing the devastation caused by the overflowing riverbeds, Perry was deeply moved by the thousands of people left homeless in her community.

“I could play 150 shows a year with my brothers, but I always had a warm house and bed to return to,” Perry shared, reflecting on the sense of community and sanctuary that Greeneville has always represented for her. The singer-songwriter, known for hits like “If I Die Young,” expressed her heartache over the loss of familiar landscapes and the impact on her songwriting process.

‘The heart of country music is in supporting those in need…’

Perry’s decision to host a benefit concert for East Tennessee aid echoes the sentiments of other artists who have stepped up to help communities affected by natural disasters. Artists like Eric Church and Luke Combs have organized benefit concerts and donated royalties to support relief efforts in North Carolina and surrounding areas.

“The heart of country music is in supporting those in need of being heard and seen in small hometowns,” Perry emphasized. “Artists giving back to their roots and never forgetting the souls that rallied around their artistry is something that country artists are always cognizant of and grateful to do whenever the opportunity arises.”

As Kimberly Perry reunites with The Band Perry for a meaningful cause close to her heart, fans can join in supporting the hurricane relief efforts by attending the benefit concert in Greeneville. Tickets for the event go on sale on December 6, 2024, offering an opportunity to enjoy live music while making a positive impact on the community in need.
