The average salary in the Community of Madrid was 2,139 euros per month in 2022, the highest in Spain, exceeding the average remuneration of seven other autonomous communities by 5,400 euros per year or more, although the purchasing power with that salary decreased by -2.1% between 2017 and last year.
These are the data extracted from the IX Adecco Monitor on Salaries (II), which analyzes state remunerations according to the economic sector, firm size, working day, economic activities and autonomous communities, in which it establishes a maximum gap of 7,814 euros per year between the average money received by workers in Madrid and Extremadura.
“We observe that a higher salary does not necessarily correspond to a better evolution in purchasing power, while the Valencian Community, with a salary 28% lower than the Madrid Community, was less affected by reducing its purchasing power by 1.4%,” Adecco points out in the conclusions of his report.
