The incidence of the covid has risen by 0.17% in the Valencian Community in the last week to stand at 174 cases per 100,000 inhabitants compared to the 173.7 cases that were registered in the previous week.

This is clear from the latest bulletin of the Acute Respiratory Infection Surveillance System (SiVIRA) published by the Ministry of Health, which analyzes the week of August 14 to 20.

Of the 59 samples analyzed, 21 have tested positive, which means a positivity of 35.6%, according to the data collected by Health.

The average age of those affected is 80 years, who were hospitalized for an average of five days, although there were no ICU admissions.

In recent days, the General Hospital of Valencia has joined the Peset and requires the use of the mask in the center due to the incidence of covid cases, as indicated by its Preventive Medicine and Occupational Risk services.

As confirmed by the Ministry, these are the only two Valencian hospitals that have communicated the adoption of additional preventive measures, in a “specific” and “temporary” manner, given the incidence of cases.

In Peset, the use of a mask is mandatory for all hospital wards where patients are admitted and in the ER, including waiting rooms.
