Progrés street and its ants have won first prize in the decoration competition organized as part of the Gràcia festival, after a close count of points by the jury. Decorated under the theme of the Pixar-Disney movie Bugs, the residents of this road suggest a journey through the hidden world of ants, among giant figures of insects and a bird suspended in height with which you can interact simulating its flight. Second place went to Mozart for his recreation of the story Alice in Wonderland, which aims to inspire the public to be the protagonist of the story.
Rovira i Trias square achieved third place with its charity project called Flying with your own wings to raise awareness about the butterfly skin disease, which affects, above all, children. The design of the ornament represents a space full of white butterflies escaping from their captivity.
The winner in 2022, Verdi Street, has come in fourth place with her interpretation of the legend of The Pied Piper of Hamelin, although she has also won the award for best Instagram photography, in addition to other mentions.
The contest also has six special categories. Verdi has won the prize for the majesty of the entrance, in which there is an immense figure of the main character of the German legend of the Grimm brothers. For its part, Calle Jesús has received an award for the reuse of materials and artistic detail when recreating the Amazon jungle in order to raise awareness about the environmental destruction of the planet.
The recognition for the best decoration of ceilings and windows has been for the Sant Antoni crossing, for its lampposts and house portals that transport visitors to the old city of New Orleans. Lastly, the award for lighting went to Tordera, for the second consecutive year, a street that also received a mention from the Casa Vicens Gaudí for claiming craft techniques that have given life to Catalan modernism.
