In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can see images of the bonfire in the Riera de les Arenes de Matadepera, in the Vallès Occidetal, during the winter festivities of Sant Sebastià.

With the meeting to go to find the pine tree for Sant Esteve and the offering of a pine tree in the parish of Sant Joan (symbol of the union of the sacred and the profane in these celebrations), the festivities organized by the Brotherhood have officially begun of San Sebastian.

Until Monday, January 22, activities of all kinds will recover in a playful and festive way the image of that most rural Matadepera that is already behind us in time, according to details from the City Council.

The big kick-off of the festivities was yesterday, Friday, with the children’s pine tree, its plantation, and the correfoc and the torchlight march.

This year, as a novelty, Friends of the Matadepera Giants, Llorenç and Agnès entered the parish to preside over the offering of the pine tree from one side of the church.
