Tell me how it happened, it made history on national television. On September 13, 2001, this series began, which has been part of Spanish homes since then. And, with 23 seasons and 420 chapters, this fiction has become one of the longest-running and most recognized in this country.

Now, 22 years later, the Alcántara family will say goodbye forever this Wednesday with an emotional ending with which they will close an important stage in the lives of many. Without a doubt, an outcome that will leave an important void, but also a good memory.

This last season has been marked by farewell. So much so that each of the chapters has been dedicated to one of the most important characters in the series. Mercedes, Inés, Toni, María, Antonio and Herminia have already had their own tribute. And now it is Carlos’s turn, or “the heir”, as he is described in this finale.

And the character played by Ricardo Gómez has been the center of everything in much of the series. And despite being away in recent seasons, the actor has decided to return to say goodbye to the fiction that has changed his life.

Although the Alcántaras have been covering the most important events in Spanish society since 1968, this outcome is set in 2001. Specifically, it begins with the attack on the World Trade Center in New York, or popularly called the Twin Towers. And this is exactly what keeps the entire family in suspense, not knowing if Carlos and Karina could go on one of the crashed planes.

Herminia’s anguish is combined with Antonio’s desperate attempts to find out if his son has boarded that plane or not. For his part, Tony follows everything that happened from Tribuna Digital; Inés, from the makeup room of her shoot; and María, from the hospital with Jorge, unable to hold back her tears. Some tense moments that do nothing but generate uncertainty in them.

However, if one thing is clear, it is that there will be a tough conversation between the former Carlitos and his grandmother, Herminia. “I want you to be in charge of fixing this because you know the history of this family and you are the one who can keep it moving forward,” the family matriarch tells her grandson through tears.

Tell me how it happened will say goodbye forever right after the premiere of Cuéntame como fue, a special program presented by Imanol Arias and Ana Duato. In this, all the Alcántara will meet to review their 22 years of history on television and give rise to the long-awaited finale.

But that is not all. Although no member of the best-known family on the small screen will be missing, some of the most important characters who have appeared throughout the seasons will also not be missing. Without a doubt, this Wednesday will be a day that will generate tears and smiles in a large part of the spectators.
