The month of July has begun marked by meteorological instability. After closing June in the middle of a heat wave, the seventh month of the year has started with an Atlantic front, which is leaving multiple precipitations in various areas of the country and even a drop in temperature in some locations.

Despite the fact that every day that passes, the intense heat returns, as of this Wednesday, the heat will again give a small truce. The latest prediction from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) indicates that rainfall will once again make an appearance.

“The approach of an inactive Atlantic front, in the Cantabrian area and northern Galicia, cloudy skies are expected, with possible weak and isolated precipitation in general, somewhat more likely in the interior in the afternoon,” says the weather report.

However, despite this front, temperatures will continue to be high. The maximum will oscillate between 26, in northern areas, and 39 degrees, in the south of the peninsula.

The front is expected to expand across the territory as the hours progress. “Clouds of diurnal evolution will develop in a large part of the north and northeastern third of the peninsula, expecting showers and occasional storms in the northeast that can be locally strong in areas of the Pyrenees and eastern Iberia,” says the AEMET.

However, despite this small pause, the heat will soon be the main protagonist again. And it is that the second heat wave of this summer could leave maximum temperatures of up to 44 degrees at the end of this week, especially in the east, center and south of the peninsula, with also very hot nights.

As of this Sunday and during the first days of next week “it cannot be ruled out that the thresholds of intensity, extension and duration necessary to be able to talk about the second heat wave of this summer will be exceeded”, the spokesman has advanced. of the AEMET, Rubén del Campo.
