The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has predicted a drastic change in meteorological conditions for next week, after the beginning of a heat wave. According to the agency, high temperatures are expected to give way to a week characterized by instability, with rain and significant temperature drops.
This weekend, warm weather will continue to predominate, especially during Saturday and part of Sunday, with mostly stable weather conditions. However, towards the end of Sunday some variations are expected that will begin a busier week. The weather, until now almost summer, will begin to change considerably.
The change will be marked by the entry of an Isolated High Level Depression (DANA) that will approach from the northwest of the peninsula. This meteorological phenomenon will bring with it a series of fronts that will mainly affect the northern third of the country between May 13 and 19. Thus, these fronts will cause showers, cloudiness and, in high areas such as the Pyrenees, even snow.
Meanwhile, in contrast to the north, the southern and southeastern regions of the country will experience temperatures exceeding 30 degrees at the start of the week. However, this summer will be short-lived, as a temperature drop is expected starting on Tuesday that will affect almost the entire national territory, marking a considerable drop compared to previously recorded temperatures.
