In the hardcore and metal music scene of the 2010s, Power Trip was a band that made a huge impact. Their intense live shows and politically charged lyrics resonated beyond the heavy music world, gaining them a strong following. However, in August 2020, the band’s lead singer, Riley Gale, tragically passed away at a young age.

Following Gale’s passing, Power Trip guitarist Blake Ibanez took a break from music but eventually formed a new band called Fugitive in 2022. Fugitive consists of members from other Texas bands and they quickly made a name for themselves with their debut EP, “Maniac,” which features aggressive crossover thrash music with death-metal-style vocals.

Despite their short studio output, Fugitive has been actively performing at festivals, showcasing their intense and energetic live performances. Their latest release, a seven-inch featuring songs “Blast Furnace” and “Standup,” shows a further progression in their sound and style.

Fugitive will be performing at Reggies Rock Club in Chicago, along with local bands Molder, Snuffed, and Danger Feet. Molder, known for their gory death metal music, will be releasing a new album soon. Snuffed is a hardcore band, while Danger Feet is a punk band playing only their third show ever.

The concert promises to be a night of intense music and high energy performances, showcasing the talent and diversity of the local music scene. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience some of the best in hardcore and metal music.
